JOIN the October Grind Challenge, RIDE all month long, RAISE funds to purchase bike locks & lights, HELP local Handlebars of Hope bike owners protect their bikes.

CHALLENGERS14 & Under —- your miles will count DOUBLE!! If you ride 8 miles, plug in 16 miles for that day
IF you DO NOT have a premium Strava account (if you do not pay a monthly membership fee), you will be responsible to add your own miles to the Leader Board.
IF you DO have a premium Strava account & want to plug in your own miles to help a girl out, that would be GREAT!

Check out October events like Lap the Lake (Facebook @lap the lake) & Tricks n Trails(Facebook @Tricks n Trails), the Coyote, ESU & Camp Alexander Trails Blanket Races to increase your miles. Join weekly local group rides like the High Gear Tuesday Night Ride or ride to & from work because every mile counts 💪 🚴♂️
Virtual, ebike, mountain bike, road & gravel miles are all acceptable ways to hit your 100 mile goal.
Whether you live in Emporia KS or over 975 miles away, you can participate.
Donations will be accepted but not required to participate. All donations will go towards purchasing bike locks & lights to give to local Handlebars of Hope bike owners, let’s help them protect their bikes. 🔐
If you would like to donate to Handlebars of Hope to help purchase quality bike locks & lights to be given to new HOH bike owners.

THE OCTOBER GRIND CHALLENGE - FINAL RESULTS
1st place - Bart Hobbs 701.96 miles
Bart started strong right at the start & continued to ride even after an injury, earning him the title ##CYCLINGMANIAC
Bart is the WINNER of a FREE race entry into La Grind 2025 in Emporia, Kansas
2nd place - Mychal Johnson 633.49 miles
Mychal is the WINNER of a $50 Gift Certificate to High Gear, Emporia, Kansas

36 out of 42 cyclists HIT 100+ miles during the October Grind Challenge
Every cyclist who hit 100+ miles was entered into a drawing to WIN a FREE race entry into La Grind 2025 …. WINNER Rita Harvey! Rita hit 222.32 miles during the challenge, what an inspiration.
Total Group Distance was 9565.36 miles
$665 dollars was raised for local Handlebars of Hope bike recipients. The money raised during this event will go towards purchasing bike locks or lights to help keep cyclists & their bikes safe. Thank you to everyone who was able to help in this way. Handlebars of Hope pictures & stories will be shared on Facebook & Instagram so you can see the lives you have helped change.
