How much does the event cost?
$170 for A Class, $150 for B & C Class, covers your entry fee for racing, support, and other goodies
When does registration open?
November 23rd 2019! Registration will open at 12:01 a.m.
Where does the money go?
A large majority of that money goes to Handle Bars of Hope. The rest of it goes to help pay for insurance, support, and shirts
Why such a large payout?
Why not? We have generous sponsors willing to help out with this event which gives us the opportunity to pass that back to you, the rider.
Why a limit on riders when its a fund raiser?
We are planning to increase that limit in the future but want to make sure everyone that comes this year has a great experience7
Where should we stay at?
Can I camp somewhere in town to save money?
Of course! There is a camp ground located just west of town and also people have had luck being allowed to camp at the Lyon County fair grounds for free
Can I show up Saturday and pick up my packet to race then?
Yes but only if you are racing in the B or C class. We would prefer you do not because of the small amount of time before the race starts. However we realize this can help save money on an extra night at hotels so will not turn you down if this is needed.
How does racing for two/three days actually work?
Your total time is added together on both days to give a total time.
I see you are using Cat A, B, and C to separate the classes, does that mean I need a license to race?
You do NOT need a license to race this event. We are letting you select which category you belong in. Remember though, better prizes are awarded for the faster classes with the Cat A class being the only one with a cash payout.
Are there time bonuses for hills or finishing first?
There are no time bonuses awarding during this race. It is purely you against the clock. However there is the addition of the Hard Charger Award for 2019
Is the payout for just men?
Nope! Mens and Womens classes will receive an equal guaranteed purse of $3,000 and will pay 5 places deep.
I am racing single speed, can I change my gearing from one day to the next?
Sure thing. You can change your gearing, tires, or whatever you like from day to day.
